The professional poker player Dylan Wilkerson managed to make another fantastic performance in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit, after previously making an impressive showing in another tournament of the series.
Only a few weeks ago, this February, Wilkerson took part in the WSOP Circuit Main Event at at the Rio and ranked at the 11th position, scooping a $20,908 cash portion of the guaranteed prize pool.
Now, Wilkerson made his performance even better after emerging victorious from the WSOP Circuit $1,675 No Limit Hold’em Main Event hosted at the Bicycle Hotel and Casino in Los Angeles. The event gathered a total of 705 participants, all of whom he managed to outlast in order to get to the first place and take home a prize of $216,790. Winning the tournament event also brought Wilkerson his first Circuit ring in his career.
But that is not all. The victory in the tournament also gave Wilkerson a free entry into the 2017 edition of WSOP Global Casino Championship that is to take place in August 2017 at Harrah’s Cherokee. As the rest of the Main Event winners and Casino Champion on the Circuit over the 2016/2017 season, the player gets a free entry estimated to $10,000 to the competition, which is to feature a minimum guaranteed prize pool amounting to $1,000,000.
At the time the final day of the WSOP Circuit $1,675 Main Event started, Wilkerson part of the players who were at the bottom of the table in regard to their stacks. When talking of his victory, the player commented that he was not recalling any missed chances in the past, but remained focused on his major goal – to play his best in Southern California and finally take down the tournament, which he did.
Considering the number of talented poker players who took part in the WSOP Circuit Main Event in Los Angeles, including Carlos Mortensen, Matt Stout, Toby Lewis, etc., playing his best was exactly what Wilkerson needed to do in order to come out on top of the list. The competition was really tough and there was no room for making errors.
With Dylan Wilkerson ranked first with a prize of $2016,790, Toby Lewis occupied the runner-up position taking home a consolation prize of $134,145. The third position at the final table ranking was taken by Douglas Jefferson, who was granted with a cash prize estimated to $98,390.
Lance Allred managed to get to the fourth position, followed by Matt Stout on the fifth. Chang Lin remained sixth, taking a prize estimated to $42,120. The seventh place of the ranking was occupied by Frank Lin, and Carlos Mortensen and Levon Khachatryan were left on the eighth and ninth position, respectively.
